poetic ceramics
Welcome
I’m Michelle Pons, a ceramic artist working from my studio in the garden. I make hand-thrown vessels with quiet forms and layered glazes. Each piece is made slowly and with care.
My work begins with mood and atmosphere, translated into colour, texture, and shape. I use soft tones, natural textures, and simple shapes that give space to the surface.
On this website, you’ll find more about my process, past and current work, and how to get in touch.
I also share updates and glimpses of my studio life on Instagram.

Traces of time, of touch, of silence.
Space for slowness, for simplicity,
for a different way of seeing.
In each form, I seek something essential:
a softness, a sturdiness, a point of rest.
No more. No less.
Poetic ceramics
For me, working with clay is not just about function or form, but about evoking emotion, atmosphere, and meaning, much like poetry does with language.
My pieces often carry a quiet suggestion of a narrative, a memory, or a mood, expressed through texture, shape, color, and silence. Rather than stating something directly, they aim to imply, invite, or whisper.
I hope they resonate on an intuitive level, subtle, contemplative, sometimes expressive. It’s not about perfection or utility, but about presence, feeling, and interpretation.
