Traces

I am drawn to the way surfaces change over time through weather, water and salt.

Rust, moss, worn stone, cracked paint and the marks left behind by the tide often catch my attention. I love the colours and textures that appear as materials weather and change.

I photograph what I notice and bring some of it back to the studio with me.

Together, these colours, textures and signs of wear have a certain atmosphere that I try to translate into clay and glaze.
